You and Your Dog

Just as schooling is important for children, obedience training is an integral part of a dog's socialization and development. Without proper education, your pet can develop unwanted, adverse and possibly dangerous behaviors.

When working with you and your pet, we help strengthen your bond with your pet. This helps your pet become a happy member of your family. Because we value the bond between you and your dog we use positive reinforcement training. This is not just because we're nice people (though we are), but because we understand the history and use of punishment in training. Like most people, dogs are more motivated by rewards, praise and love than deterred by punishment. Not only is this more humane, it's more effective and it's fun!

While we provide you the tools and opportunity to train you dog, your success will depend on how much time you spend working together. Practices should be short, fun and always end on a positive note. We recommend no more than 10 minutes twice a day to start. As it becomes more fun, let it go longer until you both 'have it', and remember to end on a positive note.
